Version 3.0 of SoundDiver, the Universal Editor/Librarian for both Mac OS and Windows, has been released and should be in stock soon. With its unsurpassed list of supported devices, a newly-designed user interface, and seamless integration with Logic Audio, SoundDiver 3.0 is becoming a standard for computer-based hardware editing. 3.0 sports a complete redesign of the user interface, a new, user-definable key (or remote MIDI) command, and (this is very cool) the ability to assign any controller to any parameter in any device.

SoundDiver 3.0 is Emagic's universal, cross-platform MIDI device editor and librarian program. With its unsurpassed list of supported devices, a newly-designed user interface, and seamless integration with Logic Audio, SoundDiver 3.0 is simply the most advanced Editor/Librarian for both the Mac OS and Windows platforms.

SoundDiver 3.0. includes editors and librarians for over 500 MIDI devices!
Once launched, SoundDiver automatically scans and identifies your devices and displays them (including all their parameters) onscreen.

The attractive new 3-D look and clearly laid out interface makes editing complex MIDI systems fun again.

Each MIDI device is easily identified with a detailed icon that looks just like the original unit. SoundDiver offers freely definable key commands which can be configured to suit any working style. You can even view SoundDiver's menus in English and German.

The graphic editors allow you to edit every aspect of your setup with just a few mouse clicks. You can freely organize and catalog your patches in searchable libraries and define shortcut keys to speed up your work.

Editors and Libraries
Each open device features customized editor windows in SoundDiver catering to different data classes Voice, Performance, Tuning Tables etc. These windows can be used independently or in any combination. Each device's editor actively tracks changes even those made directly in the device ensuring that SoundDiver always mirrors the true status of the device.

A further unique ability is the virtually unlimited undo. With this facility, you can freely experiment with your patches, safe in the knowledge that you will be able to reverse any changes made.

To archive and manage large amounts of data, SoundDiver features extremely powerful librarian facilities. Unlike other librarians, SoundDiver's "libraries" can contain both the sounds of individual devices and also the sounds of the complete MIDI system. It is possible to specify several devices in larger MIDI setups, in any combination.

SoundDiver is the only librarian that allows the creation of "mixed" libraries. This means that any number of patches, banks or other data types can be combined and managed in any order. As SoundDiver provides true librarian funtions there are no restrictions on data retrieval, regardless of data type. Therefore, it is no problem to store different types of data in a single library. As an example, Roland JV-80 patches, Yamaha SY77 voices, Alesis Quadraverb effects programs etc.

The contents of different libraries can be freely exchanged, copied, imported or exported. One advantage of this approach is that all sound categories - i.e. piano or pads etc. can be stored in one file - independent of the MIDI device on which they were generated. This facility means that a single mouse click offers instant access to all sounds of a particular type, and coupled with extremely powerful search facilities, finding specific patches is a breeze.

SoundDiver for Windows 95
Universal Sound Management and Editing Program
SoundDiver offers convenient editing and organizing for a wider range of sounds than ever before. This universal program was developed in close cooperation with professional musicians and MIDI hardware manufacturers and its scope is unique. It consists of SoundSurfer, which takes care of sound archiving and organization (also available separately), and SoundDiver, which has editors for more than 300 devices.

SoundDiver is a powerful tool which will take you deep into your synthesizer or MIDI device. Its intelligent online-help system is always available to offer you information on supported synthesizers and editors. Every operation is designed for optimum speed and simplicity. With SoundDiver you can effortlessly tap the immense world of sound creation, which until now has remained buried beneath your synthesizer's user interface. It is the ideal tool for anyone who wants to create sounds that stand a cut above the average.

SoundDiver automatically scans all connected devices and opens the correct editor for whatever sound you have chosen. If Autoplay and Autosurf are enabled, all edits are transferred straight over to the device for instant auditioning. In addition to SoundSurfer's options, SoundDiver contains over 300 different types of editors. The largest of these are divided into an Overview display, an Easy Page display and a detailed display. The useful snapshot function allows you to save the intermediate steps of your editing and acts as a multiple Undo function. Any anxieties you may have had about editing sounds will disappear, because now you don't have to struggle through endless submenus before getting to a parameter. The Universal Module offers you an easy way to create new editors.

SoundDiver can be easily integrated with your Logic sequencer: AutoLink allows you to control Logic from SoundDiver. This means that sounds can be fully edited, and these edits can be recorded in the context of a song arrangement. When creating Program Change commands, SoundDiver sends the sound names for display in Logic.
