EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Coda Music Technology, Inc.
(Nasdaq:   COMT) announced today that it has begun shipping the Vivace(R)
Practice Studio(TM) product on the Windows platform.  The Company began
shipping this product on the Macintosh platform on October 2, 1997.  To date,
the Company has received orders for 1,400 units of these products, with the
majority being for the Windows platform.
As previously announced, the Company believes the affordability of the
$199 software version of the Vivace product will enable it to appeal to the
student and hobbyist markets, rather than limit its marketing efforts to the
 academic educator market.
"The Company's goal for the remainder of 1997 and early 1998 is to test
various market initiatives to determine how to most effectively generate
student and hobbyist sales.  Parallel to this effort, we have retained a
market consultant with software expertise to develop and evaluate plans
designed to broadly launch Vivace into the consumer channel," according to Ron
 Raup, President and COO.
Coda Music Technology, Inc. develops and markets proprietary music
technology products, including Finale music notation software products and the
Vivace Intelligent Accompaniment system, a comprehensive system that makes
 practicing music fun and productive.
The Company cautions investors that actual results of future operations
may differ from those anticipated in forward looking statements due to a
number of factors.  The Company has a limited operating history from which
investors might judge its ability to market at a profit its Vivace products.
 Investors should also consider: the potential need for additional capital;
additional development work required for new products; dependence on
repertoire sales and development; competition; dependence on suppliers; and
dependence on proprietary technology.  For a more complete description, see
"Cautionary Statements" under Item 1 of the Company's Form 1O-KSB for the year
 ended December 31, 1996.
