December 1997-- Studio Vision Pro 3.5.6

===================== This 3.5.6 release fixes the following problems:

-It is now possible to select more than eight input ch's between 2 Digidesign
interfaces in consoles.

-The track overview will now redraw immediately in response to changing the track
length.

-Notes that begin before the loop point and extend into it, now will be resounded
AT the loop point.  Notes which end at the loop point won't be resounded at all.

-Notation windows now scroll to the end of their longest track.

-The key layout will now be set to the user's when using a Premiere plug-in, and
set back to Vision's when you're done.

-When starting a sequence in the middle, and then putting another sequence in the
queue, that sequence's tempo will now play correctly when the queue starts
playing.

-Many edit operations, such as delete time and undo, have been optimized.

-The Revert command will now reset fader values to those in the file.

-Using Sequence Loop in a sequence with a non-constant tempo track will now play
the tempo correctly when looping.

-Using Loop Play with DAE audio in a sequence with a non-constant tempo will now
start the audio at the right time .

-Canceling the WhereIs command, while not using DAE, from the File Management
dialog will no longer leave the file as "File Not Found."

-When punching in "on the fly," MIDI is now recorded successfully.

-It is again possible to type in tempos with decimal values.

-When using Wait for Note while in punch mode, typing Tab twice along with the
Space bar initiates playback without entering record mode (as in previous
versions).

-With "Show All Fader Info" checked in a Console Window, the controller labels
for vertical faders now function correctly when scrolling.

In addition, the following feature has been added:

-In dialogs, if a number field is selected, typing Enter deselects it; typing
Enter again OK's the dialog.

---------- Problems fixed in 3.5.4

-Choosing Edit>Capture Seq->Seq now correctly captures pan and volume events.

-Copying or "capturing" sequences now correctly pastes audio events.

-Performing edits in the Track Overview no longer causes "Illegal Write-Time"
errors.

-Using SMPTE offsets of 8 hours or more now work properly when using SonicStudio
hardware.

-Recording audio to an external hard drive using a Yamaha CBX and Powerbook no
longer causes errors.

-Typing in note letters in the List Window now works.

---------- Problems fixed in 3.5.2:

-Improved syncronization with DAE.

-Playing with the movie controller in the QuickTime window will now scroll
SVP/VIS.

-SMPTE 29.97 drop frame in Internal sync mode no longer hangs at beginning of
minutes when frame is dropped.

-SVP will no longer crash when looking for Sonic hardware on certain PowerMacs
with certain System software missing.

-Running SVP with a Digidesign Bridge I/O now works properly.

===================== Features not discussed in printed documentation:

Active In Background.

For Pro Tools III (TDM) and only for Pro Tools III there is new menu item in the
"Audio" menu.  The item is called "Active In Backgound" and is between "Mix Audio
On Capture" and "Audio Preferences".  You can check and uncheck "Active In
Background".

If "Active In Background" is not checked, when Studio Vision becomes a background
application  if Studio Vision is not playing, it will temporarily release the
DAE.  This causes all TDM connections to be broken.  When you go back to Studio
Vision the TDM connections are re-established.

If "Active In Background" is checked, when Studio Vision becomes a backgound
application all TDM connections are maintained.  But no other application can use
the DAE.

Setting Locators

Typing a number will no longer set an empty locator.  Instead,  option-number or
option-click must be used.

Opening 3.0 Files with SMPTE Offsets

Because of some subtle changes and improvements in the way timing now works with
Studio Vision, SMPTE offsets for existing 3.0 files are automatically adjusted
when opened. Although the new offset is moved back by 20 subframes, the actual
synchronization of the sequence should play back as before.
