PC MIDI CARD II

Windows 3.1 Windows 95 Compatible. The industry standard MPU-401 compatible MIDI interface card

The PC MIDI Card II is the low cost industry standard MIDI interface for IBM, suitable for all Windows and DOS MIDI applications. As the world's best selling MPU-401 compatible interface, backed by nearly four years of field proven reliability, the PC MIDI Card II is the IBM interface for those demanding glitch-free performance every time. Just plug it in and forget it.

Features

One MIDI IN, one MIDI OUT with merged software THRU
Standard 16 MIDI channel capacity for 16 simultaneous voices
 Intelligent co-processor based design
Fully MPU-401 compatible, in both uart mode and intelligent mode
Selectable address and IRQ to avoid equipment conflicts
Extended IRQ selection, now including IRQ 2/9,3 ,5,7,10,11,12
High-speed bus interface for all speed PC's, without added wait states
Fits any standard 8- or 16-bit ISA/EISA expansion slot
 Exclusive wireless MIDI metronome
 Multimedia compatible multi-client Windows driver
Diagnostic and utility software for quick system check-out
Custom injection moulded MIDI cable adapter included
Small 1/2 slot size card (4.95 in / 12.6 cm long)
 Music Quest design quality assurance

Requirements
IBM compatible computer with ISA/EISA bus
One or more MIDI instruments
Standard MIDI cables to connect instruments
Music software

MIDI Connections
Instrument connections to the PC MIDI Card II are made with standard MIDI cables (not supplied). These are conveniently attached to the MIDI IN and OUT ports of the included cable adapter on the back of the card. No external boxes are required. Additional playback instruments may be connected with standard THRU/IN "daisy chaining" from one to the next.

Computer Compatibility
The PC MIDI Card II may be used with any IBM compatible computer with industry standard ISA or EISA expansion slots. This includes the vast majority of computers available, but specifically excludes microchannel computers--e.g. IBM PS/2 models 50 and above--which require a completely different style of card. The card is easily inserted in any 8- or 16-bit slot, and offers selectable address and IRQ to avoid conflicts with other equipment. Unique among low cost MIDI interfaces, the PC MIDI Card II now offers IRQ access to the second interrupt controller. This can be a life-saver for those computers packed full of option cards. A high-speed registered bus interface assures proper operation of the PC MIDI Card II with all speed PC's, without adding wait states. Some other brands omit on-card buffer registers to cut costs, but at the expense of additional bus cycles for each access.

Software Compatibility
The PC MIDI Card II is compatible with all Windows multimedia applications and all MPU-401 supported programs. Unlike some cards claiming to be MPU-401 compatible, the PC MIDI Card II works properly in both uart mode and intelligent mode. You'll use your software in full confidence, without having to worry about periodic interface ROM updates.

Windows Driver
An MCI-compatible Windows driver is included with the PC MIDI Card II. Our driver offers multi-client support for input and output, allowing multiple Windows applications to simultaneously access the card for MIDI input and/or output.

From the Recognized IBM Interface Experts
Music Quest has been producing MIDI interfaces for IBM since 1987, with an unmatched record for innovation, reliability, and price/performance. Anyone can make product claims of course, so ask an unbiased source. Our interfaces are recommended by more leading IBM MIDI software developers than any other brand. And for good reason.
