System requirements

Stealth Serial Port for G4
- Power Macintosh G4 Dual Processor (450, 500 MHz)
- Power Macintosh G4 AGP graphics (350, 400, 450 or 500 MHz.)
Stealth Serial Port for G3
- Power Macintosh Blue G3
- Power Macintosh G4 with PCI graphics
Stealth Serilal Port for iMac
- iMac rev A-D (233-333 Mhz.)

there are quite a few different types of these so lets go thru them

Powermac G3/G4 (PCI Graphics) Version even more rare + hard to find now, 2 revisions of this type
due to the visual nature of this type, these are often discarded by computer techs + people who think its just a lousy modem. (i personally have thrown a few out before i learned what they were) if you see any type of grey/ata ribbon looking cable on the right side of the case, going to the rear of the case this is most likely
a serial adapter, either a stealth by geethree or a gport/g3port by griffin

first version was for the B&W powermac G3, which was also compatible with the first edition G4, the "yikes!" g4
this version is visually different from the other SQUARE board.. it is a long rectangular smaller board + shorter cable + port adapter

"connect your serial peripherals to the blue power macintosh g3"

there was also a version for the imac

How can I tell what revision iMac I have? Does the Stealth Serial Port for the iMac also work on the new iMac DV?
The Stealth Serial Port for the iMac works on revisions A-D of the iMac.
This covers all models of the iMacs (including the flavors) with processor speeds from 233MHz -> to 333 MHz.

The new iMac DV and iMac - 350MHz. are based on a new logic board. The modem slot on these machines is very difficult to access and the hole for the modem jack is not large enough to accommodate a serial port. Sorry.

small note re: the powermac g5 stealth port compatibility
previously i had wrote that this was only compatible with the "FX" type G5's from 2004..
ive just learned that this is not entirely accurate as there are one ore more models from 2003 (such as my powermac g5 single 1.8ghz) that also use the same type of modem port  (which is the bassis for the requirement, as it needs to physically fit in the slot of course, duh )
