Lagoon
ADAT PCI Digital Recording Interface

 (msrp: $499.95)

24 Bit 96 kHz Optical Digital I/O With ADAT Sync and Synth

The long-awaited Lagoon fills the need for a high-performance ADAT optical I/O card, but with several twists. First, the card supports ADAT optical and S/PDIF optical I/O with word widths up to 24 bits and sample rates up to 96kHz. Secondly, “mixed modes” of operation are available in which the Lagoon offers ADAT input and S/PDIF output, or S/PDIF output with ADAT input. This allows for mixed mode transfers and mastering direct from ADAT to S/PDIF. ADAT sync is provided, and when not in use can alternately be configured as a midi interface. As an added surprise, the Lagoon card also harbors a virtual analog synthesizer that runs on Lagoon’s built-in DSP. Capable of duplicating hundreds of retro sounds from the era of vintage analog synths, this virtual synth adds an element that will surely spice up your music-making arsenal.
