Mac compatibility for Lexicon Core 2

Apple G3 and G4 drivers have been announced for Lexicon's Core 2 soundcard/breakout box digital recording/editing system, which was reviewed for the PC back in May of this year. The Core 2 system provides 24-bit A-D/D-A converters, four analogue inputs, eight analogue outs, eight channels of ADAT digital I/O, and S/PDIF I/O. The system is fully compatible with Steinberg's Cubase VST and Emagic's Logic sequencers. G3/G4 support for the optional Lexicon MP100 effects daughterboard, which provides 240 presets sourced from the MPX100 dual-channel effects processor, will be available shortly.

Because of the new drivers, Mac users will now be able to take advantage of Lexicon distributor Pure Distribution's Pure Studio Pack (£999 including VAT), which bundles together a Core 2, an SPL Gold Mike valve preamp and MXL 2001 studio condenser mic (see review on page 32 of this issue).
