max level of officially supported apps for windows 3.x

windows 3.x | win95 | win98se | win2k | winXP | Vista | Windows 7 | last 32bit versions | mac

May 1990 - August 1995
windows 3.1 compatible apps | support for windows 3.11 started to dissappear around mid-1997
most options here are either Steinberg (red) or Emagic (blue)

many people forget that windows 3.x was still very much around after windows 95 hit the scene in late 1995, in fact i personally preferred windows 3.x up untill around 1997 when they came out with OSR2 release of win95 that made significant steps forward from the initial release. support for win3.x dwindled fast near the end of 1997 and focus really moved over to Windows 95 as more + more upgraded to win95.

can anything here do audio-only sequencing or was that not do-able until Win95...?

or would that be Cool Edit Pro 1.53, which I read can do multitracking...?
