Cubase 1.0 + 1.01 (1992) (download from vetusware)

this is best installed on a vintage PC with Microsoft Windows 3.0 or Microsoft Windows 3.1
working in STANDARD MODE (not 386 Enhanced mode)

cubase 1.0 (filename: CubaseW1.rar contains a .ima disk image! to be opened / accessed from winimage)
presumably this is an exact copy of the cubase 1.0 floppy install disk and it is best used by copying the image
to a 3.5" floppy using winimage to a floppy drive + then used to install from a floppy
its also best used on windows 3.x or Windows 95, but may work on windows 98/ME aswell
windows XP could be buggy/error prone but may work aswell

cubase 1.01
http://vetusware.com/download/Cubase%201.01/?id=5892

vetusware only allows one or two downloads per day!

(MIDI) interfaces listed by cubase for windows v1.0:

Quote
CMS-102 Interface
CMS-104 Interface
CMS-401 Interface http://www.oldschooldaw.com/forums/index.php?topic=2564.0
CMS-444 Interface
Fostex
Multimedia Windows (generic choice?)
MPU Type Interface
MQX Type Interface
Key MIDIlator MS-101
Key MIDIlator MS-103
Midi Time Piece (MOTU?)
Sound Blaster Pro http://www.oldschooldaw.com/forums/index.php?topic=2682
Steinberg SMP24 http://www.oldschooldaw.com/forums/index.php?topic=2751
Yamaha TG100 http://www.oldschooldaw.com/forums/index.php?topic=2364

as u can see, cubase had support for the motu midi time piece on the PC platform, this required an ISA card that the motu miditimepiece unit was plugged into, it must have had an rs-422 serial port like on a mac, either that or it used a cable to go from rs-422 serial to another serial format like db-9 or db-25. these cards are extremely rare ive been looking to find one, if i could find one i could possibly have the card cloned to create the possibility of using the miditimepeice on legacy windows 3.1 + win95 pcs again.

Dear Customer !

Here is some additional information, which is not found in the manual :

1)
If you want to use Cubase simultaneously with programs that
make use of the timer hardware, you need to activate the Multimedia
Timer driver, using Cubase's Setup program. You will have to specify
a timer resolution. A lower value represents a higher resolution, but
consumes more computer processor time.
If you donĀ“t want to run other applications, that need the timer
hardware, we recommend not using the Multimedia Timer, because of
the improved timing, when running without it.

2)
There are a couple of drivers for MIDI interfaces not mentioned in
the manual. Use the setup program to activate the drivers for your
hardware. See the manual of your interface for additional
explanation on the settings to be made.

CMX102 - CMS Interface with 2 outputs
CMX104 - CMS Interface with 4 outputs
CMX444 - CMS interface with 4 outputs and SMPTE sync
MQX32M - MusiQuest Interface with 2 outputs and SMPTE sync
TG100 - Yamaha Soundmodule with integrated serial interface
