going backward from the current version
so presently they support osx 14, 13, + 12
where previous to the release of 14, they supported 13,12 + 11

for windows its much easier
they have had more firm rootings in the os support
suppporting XP from 2002-2009 (7 years?) 5.3 > 8.03
supporting Win7 from 2009-2017 (8 years?) 8.04 > 12.8.3
supporting Win8 from 2013-2018 (5 years?) 11 > 2018.11
