Hey Chris.

Any news on the Cubase SL2 PC ISO?  ;)

I'm also interested in SE/SL/SX 1, if anyone has the PC ISO somewhere.

Got all the SE/SL/SX 3 from the Steinberg ALL/ARR to CPR conversion page working ok with the latest eLicenser on Win7 x64. You just have to install in safe mode to avoid being locked at the Steinberg font installation stage.

But I'm not quite satisfied when importing my old Cubase 16bit *.ALL/*.ARR project so far: Mixermaps events and Drums maps channels  are not translated, and tracks saved muted in the Arrangement still sound muted whatever I do in SE3.

So I'd like to give the first SE/SL/SX a shot.

Too bad Steinberg did not release the old file specs also, so we can build our own tools to mass edit those.

Anyways, cheers.

Edit: asked Steinberg support, here are the links for those intersted.

Cubase SE
https://support.steinberg.de/ISOs/Cubase/Cubase_SE_3.0.3.iso

Cubase SL
https://support.steinberg.de/ISOs/Cubase/Cubase_SL_1_Win.iso

Cubase SX 1
https://support.steinberg.de/ISOs/Cubase/Cubase_SX_1.0.6_Win.iso

Cubase SX 2
https://support.steinberg.de/ISOs/Cubase/Cubase_SX_2.2_Win.iso

Serials needed for the old versions are here:
https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/206335684-Serial-numbers-and-installation-codes-for-older-Nuendo-Cubase-and-HALion-versions

About the old *.ALL/*.ARR import compatibility, there are details in the attached file.

Works ok albeit not perfect (no multiple *.ARR import when contained into a single *.ALL file, no mixermaps events retreived, no drum map auto-conversion, have to select Cubase 3.7 drm instead, one has to manually change the MIDI channel in the Drums Edit mode to match the channel in track settings, and so forth).

my focus is on other things atm
the topics you posted above were already here on the site.... but things can be hard to find.. when different people use slightly different language + terms.. search for the right word and you find what your looking for.. because
the SL2 PC CD was posted here as far as i know???

theres nothing amazing about SL2 that warrants using it over SX3 .. its just that some people have license keys that only work on SL2 (such as myself.. they never let me upgrade my SL2 to SX3 im still kinda pissed about that - ill never understand the stupidity of software companies only selling licencses to their most current products - makes no sense at all.. if u have an older product that people still want/need then wtf man?? why deny your customers.. each new version of software increases computer/os requirements... theres a valid reason why people need older software sometimes.. but they are all ignorant (the software companies)

Hey, happy new year!

I've got the links from Steinberg's support anyways, so I edited my post above.

I'm running SL2 on a Win7 x64 (multiboot) computer to convert my old Cubase 16bit files. Works okay, and (ESI M4U) MIDI timing is decent albeit not as tight as it is on a Win98SE retrocomputer.

Even got a mint Mark Wherry's huge reference guide for cheap.
