For anyone crazy who´s using modern system to run windows 98, this version 2.8.2 wont run with more than 2gb of ram, 1.0 GS works with 3GB+(mempatch needed).

for anyone whos running windows 98, theres no point in putting more than 512mb of ram anyway
and most hardware from the time of 4gb ram+ dont have chipsets that properly support windows 98
even easier fix is to just remove some ram, my win98 machine has a core 2 duo cpu and  512mb ram.

Quote
common ram totals
1995, 1996, 1997 - 64 MB of RAM
1998, 1999, 2000 - 128 MB of RAM
2001, 2002, 2003 - 256 MB of RAM
2004, 2005 - 512 MB of RAM
2006 - 1 GB of RAM
2007, 2008, 2009 - 2 GB of RAM
2010, 2011, 2012 - 3–4GB of RAM
2013, 2014 - 8GB of RAM
2015 -> today - 16 GB

I'm running 768MB on a 2003 laptop (ATI northbridge) without issues with Cubase 2.8 up to VST5.2PB. ;D

More RAM comes handy when dual booting 98SE/ME with 2000/XP, which I always do (for better tooling, and network storage access purposes, mainly). Used along a NTFS for Windows 98 driver, to make sure all SSD partitions are usable for data backups between the old and the "new" OS.
