"A required DLL file MSVCP71.DLL was not found"

attempting to install ableton live v4.xx on windows 98/SE/ME will give you this error..

Error Starting Program
"A required DLL file MSVCP71.DLL was not found"

These types of errors are related to Microsoft Visual C++ Libraries that the programs require to run.
they can be installed by installing the visual C++ SDK (programming & debugging environment)
but of course this is not ideal as most non-programmers would have little use for the SDK.
which is why there are packages called "redistributables" which contain the patched framework libraries that
the program is looking for.

if you google on the net 99% of "answers" you find to this problem will simply suggest
downloading 2 .DLL files and placing them either in the applications folder or in your C:\windows\system32 folder

ive attached these files below.. download + place into the "C:\program files\ableton\Live 4.xx\Program" directory
