i really dont understand why they would do such a thing.. trying to make their filesize smaller???
ftp is a pretty important part of the internet.. still.. i dont understand this move on the part of the firefox developers

Because dedicated FTP clients are so much better than a web browser for this?
It was already the case in IE5 era, even more today.

Filezilla or WinSCP ftw.
