Power Supplies for Old School Daws

I'm afraid to run vintage audio cards in my G4 or Win 98se BX builds not knowing specifically how the power supplies are operating or testing at.
I'm not so worried about my WinXP laptop audio card setups for some reason.
Any guidance towards decent power supplies or power gurus that can help me out?

As long as the interface matches the motherboard. Check the PCI specification of your motherboard and the card's supplier. A sound card doesn't use a lot of power. Compare this to a GPU video card, which requires an additional power supply.  :D    Is that what you mean or want to know?

most UPS batery backup systems also feature surge protection.. i would say find a old ups (uninteruptable power supply) even if the battery is no longer functioning it may serve the purpose of cleaning + protecting the power? just an idea
