Audio ports fix for OSX Lion (iAtkos L) use VoodooHDA
« on: July 22, 2025, 04:10:28 AM »
finally got built in audio ports recognized and working on this old lion hack that i have for running older software (my 'made at home' mac pro3,1) also have a m-audio 410 card installed using the envy24 drivers

im running osx Lion (iAtkos L) on an Asus P5b Deluxe/Wifi AP motherboard (2006) with Chameleon Bootloader. the motherboard features the ADI AD1988b sound. sound Changed from "Hd audio"  to "AC'97" in bios and i  used VoodooHDA v2.7.4 by runing the pkg installer... i also used "Kext Wizard" to rebuild caches but that was prob unneeded? i also removed -removed appleTyMCEDriver.kext (ECC RAM) which was related to ecc ram in a real macpro3,1 this computer doesnt use ecc ram that may have been inconsequential however! but recorded here just in case

important! to avoid startup problems when rebooting after making these changes -- make sure to delete all AppleHDA.kext + other HDA enabler or disabler kexts when using voodooHDA as these two conflict (look for HDA in the name?) the voodoo file REPLACES that if u dont remove the appleHDA.kext pretty sure that wil conflict with using VooDooHDAv2.7.4 and could cause a kernel panic at bootup  which would cause u to have to take the drive to another existing system to fix it by removing the files if u dont do it before running the pkg installer

i ran the pkg installer! heres the link to the github but ive attached the zip file with the pkg installer below
https://github.com/chris1111/VoodooHDA-2.9.2-Clover/releases

i now see 3 new outputs, Line-Out (Green Rear), Headphones (Green Front), SPDIF-out (Rear)
and 1 new input Line-in (Blue Rear) i havent tested the SPDIF out yet

the zip file says it was created on Friday, 25 May, 2012 1:21 AM
the installer also adds a prefpane to the system/prefs window that provides a software mixer for the audio volume levels etc
