there are 4 different main types of pentium chips:
1st the initial P5 introduced March 1993 (socket 4)
2nd the P54 introduced October 1994 (socket 5)
3rd the P6 Pentium Pro introduced November 1995 (socket 8 )
4th the P55 introduce January 1997 (socket 7)
