From 1998 great coolness is Acid WAV not to be confused with the Sonic Foundry thingy...

You can load in one or many WAVs right on top of each other for layered sound...

There's a buttload of different process & FX that can be applied & each button has it's own window by right-clicking on the button...

Such as the MODULATE button-


OR the PITCH SHIFT button-



I'm sure you caught on now... You can also draw your own waveforms in cold turkey & layer that up...

Many tabs in this so check it out & drop some Acid TODAY!
