Windows 98? We’ve been hearing from quite a few inSync readers asking if they should upgrade their PC’s to Windows 98. We’ve also been hearing from quite a few PC users who have been having great difficulty with various programs after upgrading or even with new Win 98 PC’s.Our recommendation: If you use your PC to make music and you are currently doing work on a Windows 95 operating system you should check with the manufacturers of your hardware and software before upgrading. There are some significant problems in the field and there are quite a few major products that aren’t working yet in a Win 98 environment. Further, if you are about to buy a new PC, which we all know comes with Win 98, you should check with the manufacturers of your music equipment first. Most things are working fine, but we’ve confirmed enough problems that it is worth taking some precautions.
