@Mr_Mojo_Risin, tried loading your PN-JV80-07 .sysex file into the JV-880 and getting a "MIDI: Data card not ready" message as I obviously don't own a data card. Also, trying to import in SoundDiver crashes the app unfortunately. Any way you or someone else can transfer to your device's internal memory and then dump the sysex file and re-upload?

Did anybody find, or can upload, a SysEx dump of the "Rich Sound Collection 4" card (PN-JV80-07)?
Ideally, the dump should be created with a JV-80/880, so as to be as compatible as possible with the entire JV line of synths. (e.g., if the dump of the card is a created on a JV-1010, it won't be loadable by a JV-80, it will only work with JV-1010's or later compatible models)"

These are banks from PN-JV80-01, PN-JV80-02, PN-JV80-03, PN-JV80-04, PN-JV80-05 in .mid file format.
Also JV-880 Internal (User) bank included.

Use your hardware sequencer for sending to JV-880. Also any DAW can be used - import .mid. Cable from PC's soundcard MIDI OUT should go to JV-880 MIDI IN. You know already :) Click play on DAW - .mid file is beeing sent.

I'd like to remind, that .syx files for JV-1080, JV-2080 can't be loaded into JV-880.
To know if .syx can be transfered to JV-880, there's SysEx File Verification Utility:

http://llamamusic.com/super-jx/SysEx_Verify_Beta_v1a.html

Patches from PN-JV80-05 and PN-JV80-07 data cards are from JV-1000.

I only have JV-880, so I can't be sure about .syx files below (see attachment):

patches from JV-1000 (preset banks + user bank) for JV-1080, JV-2080.

I hope that these pathes will work with your JV-1080, JV-2080.

P.S. Compare JV-1000 & JV-880 PDF manual to see which patches are the same with both modules, which are different.

Hi Chucky!

Download from here: http://www.synthzone.com/midi/roland/jv80/jvsyxzip.zip

You'll find PN-JV80-01, 02, 03, 04, 05 (.syx files) in this zip file. There's some other soundbanks - Arabia.syx, Bass.syx, US_JV880.syx (Internal), EXP_001.syx etc.

P.S. I'm also still looking for PN-JV80-07.syx file. No luck so far :(

I think it would be great if anyone, who has PN-JV-06, 07 soundbanks, would share these in .syx format here for free. Thanks!

Thank you for the link.  I have PN-JV80-06, which requires the SR-JV80-02 Orchestral ROM expansion. After downloading SysEx Librarian for OS X, I was able to load the other syx info from your link to my JV2080.  I was then able to figure out how to record a SysEx dump of the PN-JV80-06 card to upload it in this post.   It has the 64 patches, 16 performances, and 1 rhythm set.  Hope it helps those looking.  When I find the PN-JV80-07 card on eBay or Reverb I will upload that as well.  This forum group has helped me beyond words.  Much appreciated!

Anyone out there interested in exchanging patch banks from the PN-JV80-xx cards?

I have #6 and I really like some of the patches, so I thought about getting more;  #2 is in the mail...
I am really interested in #4, #5, and #7.
The .syx for the 64 patches is only about 40Kb, which is easy to attach to an email.
(note that some of the PN-JV80-xx cards need the appropriate SR-JV80-xx module.

Thanks!

Regarding Ray's question about using JV-2080 slot A for SR-JV80 expansion cards, refer to page 10 of JV-2080 manual.

It states: Some sound library cards contain Patches which use
waves that are found on optional wave expansion boards.
If you are using such a sound library card together with
multiple types of wave expansion board, be sure that the
appropriate board is installed in the EXP A slot.

I believe this applies to:
Sound library cards PN-JV80-01, 02, 03 for wave expansion board SR-JV80-01 (Pop)
Sound library card: PN-JV80-06 for wave expansion board SR-JV80-02 (Orchestral)

I own the PN-JV80-07 Rich Sound Collection 4.
The user booklet indicates the card is for the JV-80 and JV-880, not the JV-1000.

Card works fine in my JV-1080 and JV-2080.

The card patches are from the JV-1000, so only using this card in a JV-1000 is redundant (already has these patches).

These patches only use the common waveforms found in both the JV-1000 and JV80/880 (and JV1080/2080).
(Some of the JV1000 Rhythm waves are missing on the JV880, so the card substitutes a valid JV80/880 waveform)

i think its possible these cards may only be compatible with the keyboard jv-80 And not the jv-880
im trying to confirm if anyones got them to function properly in a jv880 unit with the 01 expansion pop board

I've found that using these cards in a JV-2080 seems to call up the wrong expansion card slot, always picking whatever is in slot 1.    I suspect it's because they were originally designed for the JV80 which only has a single slot, so the patches perhaps don't contain the "Wave Group ID" value which on most JV / XP synths contains the card model number (e.g. "2" for an SR-JV80-02).

I didn't yet try to replicate this in my JV-1080.

Is this documented anywhere?
