Keyboard and Interface.
The Keystation 49 is a fully portable solution, ruggedly designed MIDI controller with a built-in USB MIDI interface that utilizes proven Midiman interface technology. It can be used either as a stand-alone MIDI controller keyboard, or a USB Midi keyboard and interface. Drivers are included for Windows 98, ME, and 2000, and for Macintosh OS 9 or higher in conjunction with Opcode's OMS MIDI Manager (included).
A word about midi controllers.
A MIDI controller keyboard, rather than having "sounds" built into it, is used to play sounds that exist in other locations, like computers, software programs, or other MIDI-compatible hardware. For example, here's how you play sounds within a software program: By playing the keyboard, you send MIDI information to your computer, which triggers sounds in a software program that are played via the audio output to your computer's sound card. Another example would be sending MIDI via the Keystation's MIDI output port
to external MIDI sound modules.

Features:
• Inputs and outputs 16 channels of MIDI to and from your computer using the power and convenience of your USB port.
• Fully functional, 49 key MIDI controller keyboard. Capable of sending all MIDI messages, such as aftertouch, modulation, pitch-bend, MIDI volume, and more.
• Sustain pedal input.
• No tools or computer disassembly required.
• Power the Keystation 49 with the USB port or 6 "C" batteries for complete portability, or with included power supply.
