Was fumbling about & found that this Protrekkr 2.6.2 is an update from December 2021 so just a month ago!...

This is a windows only update all others are at 2.5x for Windows, Linux, Amiga OS4, AROS and Mac OSX...

This tracker has been improved over many years in which it had it's start from the late Arguru releasing the source code for NoiseTrekker 2. For what remains today there are TWO factions that used this code...

One- the two renoise developers used it to create Noisetrekker 3.2.2 which was free but then it became Renoise thereafter & been developed heavily even now it's so overloaded with features many you'll never use that I honestly don't know how anybody makes a tune in it...

Two-PROTREKKR!...Yup, this right here...Tweaking, righting wrongs, improving but remaining ALOT like the original Noisetrekker2 but able to run on modern machines as well. It shows as well as it has been polished with a toothbrush & buffing compound...

But UNLIKE renoise this is OLDSKOOL with a workflow of sample-based instruments along with very nice built-in FX & modulation via pattern effect commands...Let yourself be DRAWN IN!!!

Here's a short tune, nice as well it don't have to sound like a 'tracker tune'-
&t=62s

Has some nice built-in themes or carve your own-

I have included a copy of Arguru's NoiseTrekker2 as well...Hard to believe he has been gone since what 2007 or 2008? Major BRILLIANT coder responsible for so much going on even nowadays...

The Multi-Platforms are over here as well as the windows 2.5.4-

https://code.google.com/archive/p/protrekkr/

The WINDOWS ONLY 2.6.2 is over here-

https://github.com/hitchhikr/protrekkr/releases

I must THANK this developer for his work, which has been excellent!...

NOTE-The 2.6.2 version contains all the song modules but if you are downloading ANY OTHER VERSION you must also download the modules archive & unzip it to your modules folder for tunes 'to learn by'...There are some REAL GOOD ones in there too...

Another more lengthy Protrekkr cluster-

OK just 2 more gets the original HILIFE Instruments I made up...

NOTE...All These HILIFEs ONLY work with the HighLife Engine in MED SoundStudio & won't work with the VSTi Plugin DiscoDSP HighLife neither version 1.3 or 1.4 they use different format....(bummer)...

These last two are from-
-Plugsound Fretted (Fretless Bass Only)
-ReFX Slayer2

I also have Instruments made from sampling U-He Diva & Devine Machine Krishna (challenging!) so check back...

OK, After a few tries it looks like I'll have to 'chop-up' the HighLife Instruments in different replies as server keeps 'seizing'...

These are HILIFE instruments made sampling output of various VSTi in HighLife Engine...

Following these 2 images you cannot screw up how to use, after a few times you get big hang of it...HighLife ALSO good for using single samples that way you can take advantage of all HighLife parameters...

So if you wish to use or create NEW sample & use audio editor do so...Then when completely finished save 'worked' sample, change instrument type from sample to HighLife, then load that puppy into HighLife...

OK first batch of instruments are from sampling-
-Linplug Albino 1
-ArtPyrite Free
-Rob Papen Blue 1.7

Modern Software / MED SoundStudio 2.1 Win32 NOW Free for ALL>>>

Posted this elsewhere & certainly appropriate here-

Other day searching 'MED SoundStudio' found owner has been handing out for FREE for some time now as he don't want it to die out & since it is no longer being sold, updated or improved...

Major BOON....

I Like MED as it is Simple, Versatile array of instruments to use, VSTi & VST accepted (Scans fast & real good)...Workflow is fast & easy and Right-Clicking on pattern selection brings menu of FX commands & you choose one for your selection then parameter panel shows up & you choose your params then hit OK & it interpolates all this FOR YOU! No need to memorize any HEX nonsense (unless you want to)...

But like alot of trackers it ain't perfect...There is no Mixer just Volume & Pan for each track, No machine view and automation is lacking so using sample based workflow with pattern FX is good mix with VSTi-VST and the SoundSyth instruments or the built-in HighLife Engine whereby you can SAMPLE another VSTi & FREEZE it to a .hilife Instrument...

Alot to offer & some lacking areas...

Actual downloads are here-

OR as the customary attachment...

Tutorial Videos-

Also The CHMs are pretty good BUTT! I did not like the small font against the confusing BG so I converted the important CHMs to HTML so one can open up in a browser that ZOOMS (I use Opera 12)...

These added as attachment as well...

Some SCREENZ-

Will add some HILIFE Instruments I have made a little later...

Modern Software / Sonant 4K Synth System Win32 - Simple & Bizarre Synth Tracker>>>
« Last post by Project5er on January 21, 2022, 08:55:40 AM »
This seems to follow the tracker paradigm rather than piano roll in operation...

Nice looking single synth sequencer for making 4K intros (or whatever else)...

The editor & sequencer are a clever-queer design for sure...

Here in GIF you see each vertical column is a track that has it's own synth settings & the editor is where you put the notes-

You hit space to render a pattern, group of patterns or whole thing to listen so it's not really 'realtime'...

Clever idea from 'Tune of a Different Drummer'...There is a manual that covers most aspects...Nice looking, nice sounding!

From here-

https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=53615

But also here as attachment also with the ONE EXTRA demo tune to learn from...Amazingly a 2008-2009 product...

Many Thanks...You have this all sorted out quite nicely...
