great article on this rare upgrade

Benchmarks with SpeedRun v.120 show that the born-again G3 600 iMac is right there with newer G3 600's and actually faster than a G3 700 iMac, or a G4 800 iMac LCD!

The Bottom Line
We give 5 Thumbs Up to Sonnets HARMONi G3-600 kit

so basically this upgrade gives the imac g3 233/266/333 fruity models a new lease on life, bringing cpu performance to comparable to that of the Powermac G4 800Mhz MP/Dual

they were kind of sneaky to compare the cpu to this machine, because its one of the most underpowered powermac g4's due to its lack of backside cache? i think? or maybe im thinking of the 733mhz model..
anyway  that machine translates to a score of 670 on the primate labs geekbench2 scale, if that is true thats pretty damn good considering the following scores:

im not sure i believe that it will make an imac g3 as powerful as a g4 dual 800 quicksilver..
but the data provided in that chart seems to say that..

The HARMONi G3 600 MHz Processor and FireWire Upgrade for iMac from Sonnet is processor upgrade for the first generation iMac computer. The processor replaces the iMac's CPU with a 600 MHz G3 and also adds a 6-Pin FireWire-400 port. This is a great way to breathe new life into your older iMac computer.
