i just actually tried this.. i plugged in an expresscard wireless G adapter to add to my already pre-installed Wireness N adapter inside my toshiba laptop running windows XP SP3.. i was able to connect both adapters and saw my speed double from 4 MB/s to 8 MB/s doing a large file transfer via teracopy to a network share fileserver (Running NAS4FREE)
its a beautiful thing! 8MB/s over wireless.. on a 10+ year old laptop running a 10+ year old OS :)
