Soundfiler by Drumware was first introduced in 1987. Again like Soundworks, these were a series of individually tailored MIDI Sample Editors. Drumware initially released Soundfiler S612 aka 'Soundfiler ST', followed by Soundfiler X7000 / S700 and Soundfiler S900 in 1988. Features include cross fade looping, freehand waveform drawing and digital equalisation amongst others. They of course cater for the Akai S612, Akai S700, Akai X7000 and Akai S900 range of 12-bit Samplers as illustrated below.

Quote
Soundfiler S612   Akai S612   12 bits   32 kHz
Soundfiler X7000 / S700   Akai S700   12 bits   32 kHz
Soundfiler X7000 / S700   Akai X7000   12 bits   40 kHz
Soundfiler S900   Akai S900   12 bits   40 kHz
