Have not seen anything about a free version of Probe, searching reveals nothing...

But as to 1.4 & 1.5 'scene' releases switching to the Multi-Mono Mode which is the powerhouse mode there are no tabs at the bottom showing like in this image grabbed from the help file which makes that mode useless-

Can it set loop markers in batch mode? By the way highly regarded izotope rx is crap as it always converts to 32bit float so later you have to truncate back to 16bit. Audition is better as it preserves bit depth and actually null tests show no spoiling from audition versions from 00s that i use.

Have you tried the free version from the developer? I think that it is its reverb which makes that airy wonderful sound. Its waveforms probably are so so. You can record its dry waveform and load into a wavetable osc but won't get same sound. I suspect some synths have top notch reverbs. I saw one guy using a reverb from korg legacy pack as his main reverb but i could not find it in that pack.

The problem with these releases is that they don't work in Multi-Mono Mode... They just work in Poly mode which is much more limited... You can choose Multi-Mono Mode but you don't get any tabs showing on the bottom of the GUI...

I agree that dx has better quality than vst.

Vintage Software / Re: Sound Quality degradation in Acid?
« Last post by geroi on December 03, 2023, 09:03:36 PM »
I have same strong sustaining impression about sound degradation and it's everywhere starting from mics. For that reason i was recommended mixing in emagic logic from 2002. The rendered file sounds exactly as separate stems at playback unlike for example reaper with loss of highs during summing. By the way in 2002 at zionist congress Rockfeller made a speech in which he declared that they would start decreasing level of life and here it is: degradation in all since 2002: in food, games, movies, software, etc. The last thing which impressed me in audio software was vss4 tc native though its algorithm dates back to hw from 90s!

This synth as a vst would be great. It has unique sound. Was released as freeware some years later.

 8) 8) here is the rosetta installer (optional installs from SL install DVD)
an application that translates most PowerPC-based applications to work with your Intel-based Mac.

sounds like you got it all sorted out great job>>.

This 'ole boy can make some serious sound, you can sequence whole tunes in it as well. Most DirectX VST work fine in it for FX. Great to play with the modular building...
