I never experienced latency running ACID Pro 3.0 on my 500mhz Celeron 1999 HP Pavillion with 192mb of ram using default microsoft sound mapper drivers. Any of you guys out there had a cool Win 98 setup. Please post details here. I am going old school. It should be relatively cheap and easy to do. Positive thoughts and suggestions welcomed.
Thanks
I have an Audio PC running Win98SE with WinLite98(OS tweaking) since 1999. Not in frequent use, but still worked fine last time I turned it on. As I recall WinLite was useful for tweaking system for stability, nice to have some register repair program like fix-it 3.0 when things get messed up in registry, also ... think there is stability problem with using more than 512 MB of memory in Win98. Good luck. I'm seriously considering downgrading as well, maybe it is better with the devil you know.
