just to bookmark a note i found on the net:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.asus/_eVsLLI7GTM
this may be correct or incorrect; not sure but:
The ASUS 4866SV2G motherboard does not support 3V CPUs like the Intel 486DX4/100MHz.
The 486SV2GX4 or PVI-486SP3 supports the 3V CPUs.
For the 486SV2G, you can upgrade your CPU to 486DX2/66MHz, AMD 486DX2/80MHz.
heres a list of the 3.3v cpus
that are probably not compatible (at least the ones made by AMD):
25MHz:
Am486 DX4-75 25 MHz 75 MHz 3.3 V 8 KiB WT
Enhanced Am486 DX4-75 25 MHz 75 MHz 3.3/3.45 V 8 KiB WB
33MHz:
Am486 DE2-66 33 MHz 66 MHz 3 V 8 KiB WT 1996(?)
Am486 DX4-100 33 MHz 100 MHz 3 V
Enhanced Am486 DX2-66 33 MHz 66 MHz 3.3/3.45 V 8/16 KiB WB
Enhanced Am486 DX4-100 33 MHz 100 MHz 3.3/3.45 V 8/16 KiB WB
40MHz:
Am486 DX4-120 40 MHz 120 MHz 3.3 V 8 KiB WT
Enhanced Am486 DX2-80 40 MHz 80 MHz 3.3/3.45 V 8 KiB WB
Enhanced Am486 DX4-120 40 MHz 120 MHz 3.3/3.45 V 8/16 KiB WB
