Galaxy is a universal librarian software package designed to help musicians organize, store, and retrieve vast numbers of sounds and setups for synthesizers and other MIDI devices. Galaxy's supported device list is extensive. It is a truly universal librarian because it allows users to program their own 'librarian modules' to work with almost any MIDI device capable of system exclusive communications. Galaxy can also export patch names to Opcode's professional sequencer, Vision, automatically ensuring that subsequent changes to names always get exported.

Requirements: Macintosh Plus or larger with 1 Meg or more; MIDI interface; MIDI synthesizer or module.

Galaxy Plus Editors--Integrated Editors and Universal Librarian
Macintosh
Galaxy Plus Editors is the industry standard for sound creation, editing, storage, and management. Galaxy's supported device list is extensive. It gives you amazingly simple visual control over your sounds, with a graphic representation of synthesizer parameters on your Mac screen. Every patch in your studio is available to edit with a minimum number of mouse clicks.

Installing Galaxy 2.5

Simply double-click on "Install Galaxy 2.5" to install the following items:

¥ Galaxy 2.5 and supporting librian modules.

After launching the installer application, follow the prompts to the main install screen and select ÒEasy Install.Ó

NOTE:  Before installing, it's always a good idea to disable any extensions or control panels that could interfere; restart your Mac and hold down the shift-key until you see "Welcome to Macintosh. Extensions Off."

Easy Install...what's installed?
This installer just installs Galaxy 2.5 and its supporting files. (OMS is no longer installed automatically with Galaxy)

Easy Install...what's NOT installed?
Below are items not installed with Easy Install. If you need any if these items you must choose ÒCustom InstallÓ from the main install screen and then select the desired install package(s).

¥ Galaxy Extras (Patch Talk manual, Programming Tools, M1 and TX81Z Patch Converters)

Custom Install allows you to install or reinstall any number of different packages.

Installing OMS is now a separate process. Galaxy requires OMS for operation. If you need to install OMS, please refer to the documents that accompany that program for further instructions.

OMS, updates to Galaxy, and other support materials can be found on Opcode's Website:
