ISA Cards / Re: massive list of ISA cards (Text file)

It seems the FCC ID: I38-SGBX21 is "Aztech SC100 Sound FX Basic" (has volume wheel).

I'm here because for me that first PC was the most inspiring setup I had. I'm currently in the process of setting up a small setup for making electronic music. At the heart of it will most probably be an old copy of Cakewalk, running on a non-networked PC.

If I can drag myself out of the studio, I may post here to ask for help and advice!  :)

Interesting. I'm on a similar trajectory, let us know how it goes.

PS.: when I say "virtually free" I do mean it!

I'm shocked ! Can almost not belive it, maybe it is some kind of fraud ? I'm mainly using PC's for music, but have some iGadgets ... and was surprised to find that Garageband sold for only a few dollars ... in the end, for some unknown reason, I just got it for free. Weird.

Computer Hardware & Devices / Re: Midiman Portman 2x4 Midi interface
«  by G40 on December 17, 2017, 03:17:33 PM »
Downloaded the recommended one from the midiman / m-audio website but as far as I can tell it's for another interface (PC/P), and seems to be missing files.

Turns out it wasn't missing files. In fact, I had failed to copy a couple of hidden files.

I still haven't managed to get it to work though. I'm pretty sure it's the wrong driver - doesn't seem to support more than a single in and out port (which is correct for the PC/P, but not the 2x4).

These:

http://www.treiberupdate.de/treiber-download/download-45729-treiber-MIDIMAN-Portman2x4Parallelport-MIDI-Interface2MIDIEin.html

Don't work... they look like they contain the right driver, but pointing windows to the inf file provided results in the PCS (serial port) driver being installed

Computer Hardware & Devices / Midiman Portman 2x4 Midi interface
«  by G40 on December 17, 2017, 12:28:33 PM »
Trying to install this on my Win98SE machine and can't find the right driver. Downloaded the recommended one from the midiman / m-audio website but as far as I can tell it's for another interface (PC/P), and seems to be missing files.

I'm going to keep digging online but would appreciate any leads!
