The Ensoniq Mirage could be enhanced with the MASOS OS, an additional purchase.  This allowed for advanced waveform editing, which could be performed connected to a Commodore 64, letting you see the samples, and visually check loop and crossover points.  Even at 8 bits, it was a slow process.
