Title: adding a parallel port via PCI-E
Post by: chrisNova777 on August 27, 2015, 02:44:22 AM
http://lavalink.com/products/serial-and-parallel-cards/pcie-bus-io-cards/parallel-pcie-pcie-1-port-epp-2/
http://www.startech.com/ca/Cards-Adapters/Parallel/1-Port-EPP-ECP-PCI-Express-Parallel-Card-~PEX1P

is apparently possible

but most parallel port midi driver software will be 32bit only and not work in 64bit versions of windows
like vista64, win7, win8 etc

u would have to run xp32bit, or vista 32bit, or win7 32bit in order to use them because 64bit os requires 64bit driver.. 32bit os requires 32bit driver.

I gues this is 3.3v PCI ?
StarTech also offer a very expensive PCIe to 4x PCI expansion chassis.
Some report PCIe to PCI is fraught for older hardware because of both bridging code and slot voltage.
Too risky for me.
Anyone here used one ?

i have a parallel port ISA card, but not one on a PCI or a PCI-E
