Windows 7 (Aug 2009) / How to fix "Recent Places" to sort by Date
« Last post by chrisNova777 on December 24, 2020, 06:20:02 PM »

Windows 7 features the ability to sort folders by "Library"

under "Favorites" thers an option entitled "Recent Places" this keeps track of all the folders you have been interacting with in recent file copies or openings etc

Go to your Personal Folder, meaning c:/Users/myusername/Recent/

Sort icons by Type.

Sort icons by Date Modified

Now go to Favorites/Recent Places

I then found that recent places link was now sorted by Date modified every time!!
Windows 95 (Aug 1995) / ATI ISA VGA WONDER+ (1990) drivers
« Last post by chrisNova777 on December 24, 2020, 10:02:41 AM »

Display Modes:
MDA (dual-page Hercules),
EGA and extended EGA emulation.
SVGA and VESA compability

I/O connections
Monochrome, RGBI and RrGgBb TTL, RGB analog, Bus-Mouse port, VESA Feature connector

Based on a new chipset which claimed to offer speeds rivalling VRAM based cards, Dual page mode memory access, Dynamic CPU/CRT interleaving.

the drivers are included with windows 95

the last issued drivers were for windows 3.1
until version 4, cakewalk for windows needs a full MPU-401 midi interface.
After reading further about it, i'm not sure anymore if this is true for the DOS version or for the windows version of cakewalk :p
Can you please help me use EMU APS with Sibelius 6 and a VST as device in Sibelius (like NotePerformer 3). The problem is that there is no MIDI Strips (in APS Mixer application) for the sound comes out from the VST. Normaly each sound comes out from every MIDI channel from Sibelius, handled from the General MIDI Strip (in APS Mixer application), or you can add up to 5 User MIDI Strips (dedicate to whatever MIDI Channel you want). Only If i choose as Device the P800 (which is the EMU itself) then it is OK, but its sounds are terible compare to NotePerformer). In my case (with selected device the "NotePerformer"), the sounds comes from each Channel, comes out alltogether from the WAVE Strip (in APS application) and i cannot handle as i want plus i believe that if i seperate each channel (from VST) i will have better performance with no click and pops and stops ect, that i experience now, because i beleive EMU APS, is a great sound card.
Also i cannot found any ASIO Strips in APS Mix app. There is only in Record area, but i do not understand how exactly it works.
Plus, in Sibelius Audio Inderface / Audio engeene option, the ASIO panel settings is grayed out (with the EMU APS)
Any help would be valueble)

im not a windows 7 purist - theres many ways you can tweak windows 10 to disable alot of its default resource wasting; but i think it sounds like you may do well to buy a new hard drive or SSD; with a new SSD windows 10 should have less problems. im not a fan of windows 10; windows is a pretty brain dead platform but there is a crazy amount of support for it;

So I'm assuming you had Windows 10 FORCE INSTALLED on your machine?

I would reformat it & re-install Windows 7 (or EARLIER) & discombobulate any updating whatsoever...

I have a blind GrandDaughter that had windows 10 force installed even though updates were turned OFF...Nothing but problems ever since this force install & windows 10 ALWAYS updating (That's a LIE it's actually SPYING!!) when starting up...

Windows 10 is GARBAGE you'd be better off with windows '95....I use XP SP3 on 7 of my machines...NEVER AN ISSUE!! No forced windows 10 installs either...

I have ONE MACHINE that is windows 10 64bit & I ONLY use it offline...It never sees the internet & it constantly YEARNS for the hookup...This was given to me by a neighbor I do favors for...I would never buy such a machine...

Mostly use it for burning movies & some graphics apps...No music creation...

So there you have it...go back...GO BACK to windows 7 or earlier or face a life of shit beyond belief!!!

products that came out during windows 95 initial release wave, they ran on both windows 3.1 + windows 95.
it wasnt for some time after that there were in rare ocasions programs that were for windows 95 only

it probably is a result of a system extension that is installed; or some type of customization script
