requires a male to male db25 cable of a short length
there are a number of revisions of the host card for use with the mpu-401

1st edition: mif-ipc (which is an 8bit ISA made specifically for IBM "XT" class computers)
2nd edition: mif-ipc-a (which is a revision of the 1st edition for better compatibility with IBM "AT" class computers)
