    Built-in synthesiser with 64-voice GM/GS hardware wavetable and multi-layer stereo 48kHz sampler including 2 LFOs (Low Frequency Oscillators), 3 EGs (Envelope Generators), 2 keyboard tracking tables . Resonance filter of up to 24dB. (Multi-layer: The possibility of assigning more than one instrument to any one note at any time.)
    4MB RAM of high quality samples (sounds included with the express authorisation of Roland Corporation).

The software bundle is also quite impressive. As well as the
necessary drivers, Guillemot provide a suite of utilities to control
the hardware and configure the sounds held within the onboard
RAM. Also included are Logic Audio Pro ISIS (close to Logic Audio
Silver in specification), Cool Edit Pro SE and Sonic Foundry’s Acid
DJ (one of several cut down and ‘themed’ versions of Acid now
available). CDs containing demos of various Cakewalk and
Steinberg software complete the package.

I have been using one of these for years with win 98se which I keep for programing my Akai s2000.  I could do with the output upgrade on the Akai to really take advantage of the 8 ins of the Maxi. It is such a shame that Guillemot didn't write a driver for xp It is a great sound card with an excellent bundle for the time.
