soundflower is all about interapplication audio routing
this is an application for OSX developed by cycling 74 which was a beloved company that was renowned for its contributions to the audio world on the classic macos from the 90s. this guys github says it supports catalina! so i guess its compatible with mojave + high sierra!
it also says real apple Silicon Macs are not supported! what a world lol

Soundflower is a MacOS system extension that allows applications to pass audio to other applications. Soundflower is easy to use, it simply presents itself as an audio device, allowing any audio application to send and receive audio with no other support needed.
