G4 MDD refuses to boot from Tiger DVD *Solution*
« on: April 19, 2015, 09:07:46 AM »
a possible reason for this could be the difference in optical media type

DVD-R works.
DVD+R seems to cause problems...
this is up to your dvd drive of course..
if u have a dvd drive in your g4 from before 2006 chances are it will want a DVD-R
if u have a dvd drive from more recent times 2008+ it may be ok with DVD+R
whatever u do, dont use a DVD+DL :)

solution: re-burn the tiger dvd on a DVD-R disc + throw out your DVD+R copies so you dont run into this problem again!
